So I officially almost broke down and cried at my school today. I never thought the students would get to me but they did today. It was kind of embaressing after the fact, but one of the girls wrote me a sweet letter afterward. Here is a exerpt: "Miss... I know this may sound weird and I don't know why but you have helped me to see things differently. Thank you!"
I wanted to cry after she gave me the note. You see, Maria is a 14 year old from Argentina who has been in and out of gang activity. She is a bright girl who finally got out of the gang life and wants to be a lawyer. I don't know why but ever since she came into focus she and I have just clicked. It's amazing and it's little notes like this that make all of the "not so fun stuff" worth it:) Anywho, just thought I would share this little story with you. I have been learning a lot about my teaching and myself but it brings new and great things each and every day!!
P.S. the caption to the photo says: "I had no idea aspirin came in such a large bottle."
